Fuel Tax Reduction for Tradies

Finally some good news for tradies who use non road based vehicles:

Fuel Tax Reduction

Fuel tax cheer for our tradies as petrol and diesel costs to come …

“ABOUT 42000 SA businesses will benefit from lower petrol and diesel costs from next month.

The benefit will come when fuel-tax credits are doubled, but only for non-road-based equipment.

Information provided by the Federal Government shows up to 22,200 firms in construction, some 7000 in manufacturing and more than 13,000 engaged in the provision of some professional and technical services stand to gain when their fuel-tax credit rate of 19c a litre is doubled to 38c a litre.

The change, announced before the new carbon price regime, will put these businesses on an equal footing with the booming resources industry and those in farming, fisheries and forestry.

The doubling of the rebate will more than offset an expected 6c a litre increase in fuel costs associated with the carbon price, also from July 1 this year…
